Many people go to Las Vegas to gamble. Not so for the bling twins! During a recent girls’ trip to Vegas, we spent time exploring the amazing hotels and the shops… oh the shops. Here are some shots from a fantastically fun time at the YSL boutique. I am in love with the YSL Arty ring collection ($250 each). Anyone want to send me the gold with black/gold stone Arty ring? Bueller? Bueller?
Behold the Moonshine ring from Swarovski. After visiting this dreamy ring for over a year online, we stumbled upon it in person at the Las Vegas Swarovski boutique. They only had two in store — one that fit me and one that fit Shannon — so naturally, we both took the plunge on this massive bling ring. (Available online or in select Swarovski boutiques for $290)
For trendy jewelry, I prefer not to spend a small fortune. We all know that Target has great, inexpensive jewelry lines, and here in Dallas, we also have Sam Moon for cheaper jewelry. But it’s good to have an out-of-the-way discount treasure trove that no one knows about. I’m about to share one … Once a month, I go to Lewisville to get my hair done (30 minute drive and totally worth it), and I always go to the Stein Mart on Main Street in Lewisville. For some reason, this particular location has 4 times as much jewelry as other locations, so I usually find a lil something for me or Shannon or one of the Glossy Posse girls.
This last trip, I found lots of pieces with a lady-like retro vibe which would be fun for the Mad Men trend this Fall. All of the pieces below are under $30 each. They are a lil too prim and proper for me, but maybe I should branch out? Which piece do you like?
Last night, Shannon and I attended the F2 TALK with Renée Rouleau (pronounced roo-LOW) held by The Fashionistas. Not only is Renée a trusted skin care expert and celebrity esthetician… she wears bling! While she was detailing her top 5 skin care myths, tips for handling brown spots and acne, answering Q&A and much much more, we were mesmerized by her ring pictured above.
I have followed Renée’s tips on her Renée Rouleau web site, Facebook and Twitter for over a year and find the information to be extremely helpful. I am a tell-it-like-it-is (perhaps in a sweet Southern accent) kind of gal, so I appreciate her straight-forward approach to answering skin care questions — focused on helping each individual attain the best skin possible. I will be booking a facial soon (a generous gift to attendees of the F2 TALK) and asking lots of questions about handling my particular set of skin issues. She has inspired me to pay more attention to my skin… we all need the best canvas possible to showcase our bling, right?
Bling on a Budget: Interested in your own large bling ring? She couldn’t remember the designer of her ring, so I have made some suggestions below.
Juicy Couture ‘Midnight Swag’ Pyramid Cluster Ring ($88) at Nordstrom.
Tarnish Statement Ring ($38) at Nordstrom.
I love private shopping sites like Hautelook for amazing deals. Only thing is you have to check them often because the sales only last a couple days. Here are a few items from the Soho Hearts sale today. The Sea Green Chain Ribbon Necklace ($40) reminds me of the crystal chain link necklaces by Vera Wang, but this necklace is a smaller, everyday size with a much smaller pricetag. I’m too chicken to work much neon into my wardrobe, but I would def wear these neon yellow Cool Square Button Earrings ($11). Last but not least, the Flower Stone Ring ($25) reminds me of Chanel… so naturally, I love it.
Want to wear a statement ring but are tired of super-large cocktail rings? Or maybe your inner-geek loves goth full finger rings? Either way, the BCBGMAXAZRIA Rhinestone-Pave Joint Ring could be the solution. I am not tired of massive cocktail rings (NEVER!), but my inner-geek is totally on board with this ring. It’s like sparkling lace wrapped around your finger. Too bad they are out of my size. *sigh*
Embrace this bling finger armor: Available on BCBGMAXAZRIA ($148).
I can understand the kitchsy idea behind this ring by Made Her Think. It looks like a ring that has become undone over time, but you keep wearing it because of sentimental value. However, I can’t see spending just over $350 for the “un-bling” look. If you can get past the price, just imagine how many clothing items may be shredded by those exposed prongs. Eep!
Is the artistic thought behind this ring worth the pricetag and risk of damage? I say no, but what do you think? Available on shopbop.com ($352).
Happens every time… why do I get so excited when Swarovski has a sale? Well, let us show you. Have trouble finding to-die-for clip earrings? Look no further. The Hot Black Diamond Clip Earrings ($85) are my favorites from the sale. And if you have big Texas hair like I do, these babies will definitely show up. The Sign Getaway Pouch ($75) is perfect for organizing all those tubes of lipgloss in your purse or can even be used as a wallet. Last but not least… I have been visiting the Opaline Navy Ring ($62.50) for months. At this sale price, it’s a steal of bling proportions.
Go to Swarovski to view all of the current sale items – 30-50% off right now.
Run, don’t walk, to Target and pick up one of these asap. A massive crystal draped with pewter chains makes Metsy a happy girl. The ring is fairly light-weight considering the size of the stone, and it’s one size fits “all” because the band is elasticized. It fits nicely on my ring finger and I usually wear a size 8. If you have more dainty hands, this ring would be amazing on the middle finger.
Get in the car and head to Target NOW. I couldn’t find the ring online, but it’s available in Target stores for $6.99.
